What is wedding?

Newlyweds’ vow is an ancient and very beautiful ritual that takes place after the bride and groom have confirmed their consent to the marriage. The bride and groom promise to love and take care of each other till the end of life.
A hundred years ago all the brides and grooms recited the same texts of the oaths set by religious canons. Newlyweds learned them by heart by the liturgical books, or simply repeated the words of the vows after a priest. But today during the non-religious ceremony young people can choose any words that come from the heart.
There are some examples of wedding vows. You can use them completely or compose your own having been inspired by our examples.

"Dear (name of groom / bride) by wearing this ring, I'll take you as a husband (wife). Now you belong to me and I belong to you, because we are no longer two separated halves, but one and integral."

"Wearing this ring, I call you my wife (husband). I promise to love you truly and faithfully to the end of my days. I promise to share all the good with you and protect you from harm. I promise to respect your opinion, take care of you and our future children. And I swear: no matter what happens, I am always with you."

"Take this ring as a symbol of my love and devotion. From now on I am your husband, and I give you this ring, because you are now my wife. With this ring I hand you my heart and I ask you to remember this. Take care of your wedding ring because it is fragile and expensive like the human heart."
